Hair Hair Everywhere

Hair Hair Hair.
Here we are a trio of long haired earth-loving, ocean-loving, people-loving, peace-giving, divine-promoting, happy-dishing, soul-dancing, love-spreading, heaven-praising, spirit-dancing, light-laughing folk.

Our wedding was so out of this world.  So utterly transforming.  I feel completely changed.   There is definitely the Sasha before the marriage and the Sasha after the marriage.  Being united with a loving partner is absolutely life changing.  Patrick and I are together five years this year.  We've lived together for most of those years during which time we endured the struggles of being an artist and surviving, the Nashville Flood, the passing of my beloved daddy Poppi, and the challenge of choosing marriage.  Choosing is a process.   Choosing a mate is a study in companionship.  It's a chance to stand up and have the courage to look at yourself under a microscope and admit with sweat on the brow that life is short and it's time to take the good long look at yourself.  Waste no time on being an a$$ looking at life through a distorted lens.

A good partner is a mirror.  A good partner is patient and encouraging.  Companionship is a journey and you need to fill the tank of truth and love all the time.  It will gasp on empty if you ignore the gauges screaming "E."  And that spark...gotta keep your spark plugs clean and change 'em if they are tired.   Keep watch that the spark is pure and the engine is running cool.  You don't want to overheat with angry air.

My motorcycle teaches me to look at things like a good long ride with all the unpredictable happenings that could occur.  Looking through the motor lens of my modified Harley-Davidson things are so clear for me.  My motorcycle helps me make sense of things in the world, in life and in love.  After all, my motorqueen, Miss Tigerlily, brought me together with my Chrome Charming, Patrick, and his brute looking Harley-Davidson Springer with the long ape hangers.

When it seems like I can't make any sense of things, well I just let my hair down and get my knees in the breeze and ride free.   Standing on that Maui beach on April 28th, 2011, signing that certificate with lovely Eve Hogan officiating the nuptials -- our hair just a blowing in the breeze --- was the same feeling I get when I set out on an adventure:  the exhilaration of that brand new feeling when you set out on a new road; having an idea of the destination and knowing there will be some detours, exits and entrances, maybe a breakdown or two and then a restoration and more; and that overall surrender as I place my mustard-seed size faith in the new journey, setting my heart and soul wild and free as I welcome the excitement of the wide open horizon ahead.   It's that child-like feeling of gloriously losing yourself in the moment without a sense of hands controlling a tick-tock.  The only sound is your heart beating out of your chest with anticipation and that is your measure of time....none.

Music + Motorcycles = Marriage

Patrick, me and Eve Hogan.  photosonmaui.com
thumbs up after signing the certificate and officially sealing the deal.

Yes, music + motorcycles = Marriage.  I found my match made in Asphalt Heaven in Patrick Lassiter's soul and heart.   The power of music and the roar of two Harley-Davidson engines brought us together forever on April 28, 2011.

The Lovely Eve Hogan, marriage officiant, author of inspirational love books, motivational speaker, Labyrinth expert, and proprietor of the Sacred Gardens of Maui, was the chosen angel to marry us. (Eve - www.heartpath.com)  Bill Stockwell was the photographer (www.photosonmaui.com) and we stayed at the most affordable and awesome boutique sexy ZEN hotel (www.hotelwailea.com).  They spoiled us rotten there with all kinds of honeymoon treats and the hotel housekeepers picked the flowers from the property for my wedding bouquet --  three stems representing the holy Trinity and we tied a ribbon around it with photos of our dearly departed parents: (Larry and Caroline Lassiter, and my poppi John Mullins.  My mother, Ann aka Emma is still very much alive and bossing me around LOL).

Irene Ryding performed a variety of super wind floating tunes on her harp (www.mauiharper.com), and the day before the wedding Marty Guierro stopped by our hotel to give us two highly spirited, deep tissue massages to get us more in tune with the Aloha soul of Maui (www.mauirelax.com).

Elena Jones of Nona Lani Cottages in Kihei handmade our leis with flowers from her garden!  Our $7.99 wedding cake came from Safeway grocery stores and we ate it with side splitting laughter while driving along the Road to Hana.   The entire wedding trip became an experience that made our marriage ceremony an epic event in our lives.  It sealed the meaning of forever as the sweetest reality to our freespirited souls.  We feel free-er and more wild at heart than ever before having held our nuptials on the sacred isle of Maui.

Wild and free is the nature of the universe and we are very much one with it and very aware of our ONEness with the Universe because of our high octane FUN wedding trip and ceremony.  Come to think of it, yeah, our wedding was a TRIP!  Altogether!

The folks involved made it so, too, of course.

Floody shares the NY Times Vows article featuring his mama and dada.
The divine treat is that our little story made the VOWS section of the NY Times.  That's a Godincidence shot in the dark for sure.  Thanks to editor Bob Woletz, writer Lois Smith Brady, and NYT Maui photographer Matthew Thayer for recognizing the roar of our story and presenting it to the readership of my very favorite newspaper: The New York Times.  I've dreamed of having my wedding announced in this great paper and lo and behold it happened BEYOND my wildest dreams.

Music + Motorcycles + Marriage = dreams come true!  Read all about it in the NY TIMES click here!

Seeing the NY Times VOWS article in print makes us feel like we got married all over again today. May it inspire u!

Here Comes Chrome Cowgirl.

Today, I finalized my manuscript. From the author's point of view anyway. I await my darling editor's commentary and keen editing for my review. I trust him; he's such a talented chrome cowboy with a touch of bad boy. He understands my crayon world -- Chrome Cowgirl's Guide to the Motorcycle Life -- the book sure to tickle many and arouse the seventh sense around the world. What is the seventh sense. A sense of self. Who you are. Really.

So, now the second total focus is on everything Chrome Cowgirl, of course, career wise it is the focus. The first total focus is Poppi. This Chrome Cowgirl will stay near to her Poppi to encourage him to experience his bucket list in a most bold way, of course. If you don't know what that means, read the previous post from yesterday. [update: the post had to be removed by orders of my mean mother]

Good thing my Patrick is a participant in my crayon world. Hence. We are both WANTED. [click on that photo strip on the left to enlarge it!] I want him; he wants me. Hee Ha. Ha. Sigh....can't wait to marry my man. What to do....?! Another thought for another time. We went to see the movie the bucket list, with a gigantoid bucket of popcorn....oh the calories...the oooozee butter. The enormoid diet soda! Anyway, my bucket list is to spend as much time with my Poppi, marry Patrick, be a good soul to everybody, encourage as many dreams around the world to come true so there will be lots of strong, happy folks. There's more, but that's good for now.

So, here comes Chrome Cowgirl drawing her own crayon trail to follow on her motorcycle, all around the globe. I'll write more later on. I have to go help Patrick set up my ol' futon that I slept on for years in NYC. Now it's actually going to be used as a flop couch in our music room. I have a real bed to sleep in now.
