Music + Motorcycles = Marriage

Patrick, me and Eve Hogan.  photosonmaui.com
thumbs up after signing the certificate and officially sealing the deal.

Yes, music + motorcycles = Marriage.  I found my match made in Asphalt Heaven in Patrick Lassiter's soul and heart.   The power of music and the roar of two Harley-Davidson engines brought us together forever on April 28, 2011.

The Lovely Eve Hogan, marriage officiant, author of inspirational love books, motivational speaker, Labyrinth expert, and proprietor of the Sacred Gardens of Maui, was the chosen angel to marry us. (Eve - www.heartpath.com)  Bill Stockwell was the photographer (www.photosonmaui.com) and we stayed at the most affordable and awesome boutique sexy ZEN hotel (www.hotelwailea.com).  They spoiled us rotten there with all kinds of honeymoon treats and the hotel housekeepers picked the flowers from the property for my wedding bouquet --  three stems representing the holy Trinity and we tied a ribbon around it with photos of our dearly departed parents: (Larry and Caroline Lassiter, and my poppi John Mullins.  My mother, Ann aka Emma is still very much alive and bossing me around LOL).

Irene Ryding performed a variety of super wind floating tunes on her harp (www.mauiharper.com), and the day before the wedding Marty Guierro stopped by our hotel to give us two highly spirited, deep tissue massages to get us more in tune with the Aloha soul of Maui (www.mauirelax.com).

Elena Jones of Nona Lani Cottages in Kihei handmade our leis with flowers from her garden!  Our $7.99 wedding cake came from Safeway grocery stores and we ate it with side splitting laughter while driving along the Road to Hana.   The entire wedding trip became an experience that made our marriage ceremony an epic event in our lives.  It sealed the meaning of forever as the sweetest reality to our freespirited souls.  We feel free-er and more wild at heart than ever before having held our nuptials on the sacred isle of Maui.

Wild and free is the nature of the universe and we are very much one with it and very aware of our ONEness with the Universe because of our high octane FUN wedding trip and ceremony.  Come to think of it, yeah, our wedding was a TRIP!  Altogether!

The folks involved made it so, too, of course.

Floody shares the NY Times Vows article featuring his mama and dada.
The divine treat is that our little story made the VOWS section of the NY Times.  That's a Godincidence shot in the dark for sure.  Thanks to editor Bob Woletz, writer Lois Smith Brady, and NYT Maui photographer Matthew Thayer for recognizing the roar of our story and presenting it to the readership of my very favorite newspaper: The New York Times.  I've dreamed of having my wedding announced in this great paper and lo and behold it happened BEYOND my wildest dreams.

Music + Motorcycles + Marriage = dreams come true!  Read all about it in the NY TIMES click here!

Seeing the NY Times VOWS article in print makes us feel like we got married all over again today. May it inspire u!

A new life begins as Mrs.

Mr. and Mrs. Lassiter
April 28, 2011
Po'olenalena Beach, Maui, Hawaii

Being married is awesome.  Patrick and I have been together five years this year and we've been through so much together in those five years.  He is a kind and gentle man with a huge heart plus he is super fun to be with and he makes me laugh all the time.   I've learned so much from his sweet Southern personality.  He's like sweet tea with a little moonshine.  And I guess I'm something like Sangria with sass.   All of our wedding photos totally show that we're best friends.  Lots of humor during our ceremony.  Not that we made fun of it, it's just that we were super high on life's a beach and we couldn't believe that we were finally getting married. Neither one of us had EVER been married before.

Check out the slide show of our wedding that photographer Bill Stockwell put together for us:

Bill really captured our special life changing moment as we said our vows and celebrated our new life together.  There was another awesome photographer there, too, named Matt Thayer from the NY Times and I just can't WAIT to see his photos!!!!  What an honor that we will be the featured couple in the VOWS section of the NY Times May 22nd.  The amazing Lois Smith Brady composed the feature article about us.   That's a super nova Godincidence blessing all together, darlings.  Oh, I LOVE the NY Times and have always dreamed of my wedding being announced in my favorite paper of all time.  Even though I live in Nashville, I'm forever a NY city girl and someday we will live full on part-time, too. I've been scouting locations for our second someday home.

Thank GOD for Patrick and my sweet life as Mrs. Lassiter.  I added my name Mullins to my middle name in honor of my Poppi.

More to come. . .

WHERE IS SASHA!

Hello my dears.

I've gotten your e-mails asking Where is Sasha! since it's been quite awhile since I have written in my blog.

Well, as it is, right now I'm trying to finish up my book The Chrome Cowgirl Guide to the Motorcycle Life which is a fun, kitchy little read, sure to delight and fit in your back pocket to be taken along for the ride of your life...

Also, I have accepted my Chrome Cowboy's hand in marriage and so am planning a nifty elopement which has now turned into a backyard southern style gathering for this spring. Complete with a pig roaster and all the BBQ you'd want to feed upon. So, that just came up a few days ago. Quick switch from the fancy fairytale elopement in LaJolla to a backyard hoot and hollerin' honky tonk, tent city, BBQ in my new backyard on the Cumberland River.

Oh, and my husband to be bought us a new house. Not just a house...a freakin' PAD my friends. It is on the river...a total hippie house on the river. The folks that owned it before were loving and amazing with divine energy and angel attraction for sure. They have infused so much love and serenity on this property. There is a Japanese meditation garden and stone steps leading right into the drink. This is a dream, ya'll. I knew I could always live in my Vantastic down by the river, but now I don't have to....I can live in a real house down ON the river.

Two of my songs have been requested by the ever laudable Smithsonian Institute's new Smithsonian Channel documentary, "Sturgis" which will debut sometime next year. You can go to my Patrick's myspace and dig on the two songs that were mixed and mastered (and they are still not all the way done, but I got 'em as done as done for this awesome opportunity) www.myspace.com/patlassiter - listen to the songs here!

What else? Um, my darling best wind sister friend Betsy Huelskamp will be co-starring in the controversial Beyond Everest Discovery Channel mini epic adventure debuting on 10/30 -- 12/18 -- so go to the Discovery Channel website for listings. She's a tremendous inspiration and character for sure...quite beloved by many. Photos to come. http://dsc.discovery.com/convergence/everestbeyond/everestbeyond.html
Betsy and I will be revving throttle next week together in Los Angeles...so dig that!

Also, my book The Chrome Cowgirl Guide to the Motorcycle Life with Motorbooks International will be completed in a few weeks....it's awesome. My editor sent me some book covers that are just knock outs. What a tough assignment, you know why? Because I struggled to complete this project...and it was due to the many changes in my life...sort of like, the book was evolving as I was evolving and now it is such a God inspired, powerhouse little presentation. I started out with it being something other than what it is and now it has taken on a life of it's own. And that's bound to happen when you compose and let the creative spirit take you over...it just grows and evolves. It's set to arrive on book shelves in Spring 2008. I adore my editor because he is a beautiful soul. He understands the divine movement of creativity....or else he just tolerates this quirky little artist!

There are lots of other projects that I just can't wait to get to. I have a couple more books in me, that are eager to find a home: a fiction book and a children's book. And there are alot more after that.....

Let me close this and get back to it, my precious friends and readers. I need to pay attention, focus, focus, focus on my task at hand....writing my book...

U R loved by me!
