I am city, so country roads can you take me home?

I am city.   There is a comfort to New York City.  It is the mass volume of people and art.   It soothes my soul.  Living in Nashville puts me in a place of having to convince myself everyday that this town is okay.  I don't find Nashville comforting at all.  It doesn't soothe my soul.  I wish it would.  I'm on a mission to find things that can soothe my soul in this town.  When I'm in my actual Tennessee homestead everything is awesome.  But once I get into a vehicle to venture away from my TN artist compound I feel immediately out of place.  How can this be when I have sooo many soul friends around the country with whom I have the pleasure of calling "family."   Never felt that way in Nashville.  Maybe because it is the fact that I am from a land where things are let to be as they are and there is the acceptance of all kinds of folks and all kinds of artform and the looking at life as art.

I do not fit in here and perhaps that's okay.  Maybe I am a peculiar artform here in this country town.  Life in Nashville remains a mystery to me.  It would be nice to solve it so that I can be more comfortable and feel more in place.

Country roads take me home.

Why are you trying so hard to fit in when you were born to stand out?

There are people who are generic. They make generic responses and they expect generic answers. They live inside a box and they think people who don't fit into their box are weird. But I'll tell you what, generic people are the weird people. They are like genetically-manipulated plants growing inside a laboratory, like indistinguishable faces, like droids. The shoe that fits one person pinches another; there is no recipe for living that suits all cases.
